Ο Λάμπρος Φώτης στα πλαίσια της ερευνητικής του δραστηριότητας έχει συμμετάσχει στη συγγραφή πολυάριθμων δημοσιεύσεων σε διεθνή επιστημονικά περιοδικά και έχει στο ενεργητικό του σημαντικό αριθμό ετεροαναφορών. Επιπλέον, έχει κάνει πολλαπλές παρουσιάσεις σε διεθνή συνέδρια. Ασχολείται ερευνητικά με την παθογένεση της Νεανικής Ιδιοπαθούς Αρθρίτιδας και της συσχέτισης της με τη μικροχλωρίδα του εντέρου καθώς επίσης και με τη μελέτη των Περιοδικών Εμπυρέτων Συνδρόμων στα παιδιά.
